Since the advent of NFTs in mainstream media, many automakers have jumped onboard the trend with their own collections, including Porsche, Ferrari, and Nissan.

Now, Lamborghini is throwing its hat into the ring with its own Lamborghini Space Key, an exclusive NFT project designed by an artist who has yet to be revealed.

Interestingly, the Space Key was created from 3D-printed carbon fiber sent to the International Space Station in 2019, as per Coinspeaker. After returning to Earth, the material was crafted into five keys, each with its own unique artwork and QR code.

Soon, the automaker will release more information on the artists and artworks tied with the project. The five keys will be put up for auction, according to Motor1, though the starting price for the NFTs have yet to be announced.

“Innovation is a deeply rooted part of the Lamborghini DNA,” said CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann.

“Now entering the metaverse is again proof of Lamborghini always setting sail for new horizons. The NFT world has been calling to us, and we are excited about engaging with this very passionate and innovative community,” he added.
